Benefits

As a person ages muscles become shorter and lose their elasticity, bones start to lose their density and metabolism slows down. The effect of these unfortunate facts of life usually result in us slowing down over time, this can also contribute to your core strength ebbing away and may cause aches and pains and a loss of balance.

The good news is the aging process is very preventable! Sorry there is no magic wand, we can’t stop it, but we can slow it down…

There are many benefits with exercise and at perfect fit in Wells we can design a programme specifically for you. Here are a few examples of the types of training you can do in the gym or at home:

Weight/Resistance training: You are never too old to start weight training! This type of exercise, when done correctly, will improve bone density slowing down the process of osteoporosis. This happens by strengthening the muscles and ligaments and the force applied to the bones creates a restorative response. It can also help improve co-ordination and self-awareness.

Flexibility and Mobility: Joint problems and tight muscles can improve from regular exercise and stretching. Stretching helps to improve blood circulation and lengthens the muscles. Doing this by yourself or in a class can also help provide a feeling of general well-being.

At perfect fit we are running a pilates based flexibility class on Monday 6th June at 10:15am – 11:00am. Anyone is welcome and it is a beginner’s class, please email info@perfectfitwell.com to book your place or enquire.
